Guidelines

• Muktinath experiences cold mornings and evenings throughout the year, so bring warm clothing.
• Breathing can be affected by altitude; move slowly, drink plenty of water, and abstain from alcohol.
• Observe the temple’s rules by taking off your shoes and not bringing anything made of leather inside.
• Bring a copy of your passport and a valid ID for any checkpoints along the way.
• In the Jomsom area, Jeep rides can be rough; bring motion sickness medication if necessary.
• Near places of worship, local cuisine is straightforward and vegetarian; make appropriate plans.
